COVID-19 SDS Statement:

Short Dance Studio is committed to excellence in dance education in a healthy environment. SDS considers your health and safety our top priority and wanted to take this opportunity to share with you our plans for minimizing transmission of this or any flu/flu-like illness as we move from Winter to Spring.

Keeping our studio clean and sanitizing surfaces on a regular basis, especially during flu season, is already a current and consistent procedure. Some additional preventative measures we are taking to help prevent against exposure are:

  • We plan to continue to have our hand sanitizer pumps and tissues handy for frequent use.
  • Ballet Barres will be sanitized in between each class in which they are used.
  • Dancers with multiple classes will be reminded to wash hands in between classes.

If your dancer is sick with a fever and other flu-like symptoms, please don’t hesitate to keep them at home.

We hope this information helps you to know what to expect when bringing your children to our facility. We will continue to do ALL we can to provide the safest environment possible for your child(ren) and family.

Due to information on COVID-19 and school cancellations we have decided to close both Short Dance Studio locations until after Spring Break starting Monday, March 16th. The anticipated reopening date is March 30, 2020; however, the reopening date is subject to change pending further information.

We would rather have a huge blizzard, buried in snow, than tell you that we are taking time off for a pandemic of a virus but consider it snow days for you and your families.

We will clean and sanitize the studios and have them ready for your dancers return after spring break.

Performing dress rehearsals will be rescheduled for Monday April 13th in NR and Tuesday April 14th in IGH. Competition Dress Rehearsal will be postponed until after spring break as well. We will let you know as soon as we have secured a new date for rehearsal.

We will communicate via email, website and social media while we are off. Please watch for info. on getting costumes, recital, recital apparel, summer and more.

Please stay safe and healthy. Continue to stretch and practice your dances. We will see you all soon.

There will be office hours tomorrow, Monday March 16th from 5-7pm for those of you that have questions, need to pick up something or drop off payment, etc…

Your friends in dance education,

Jessica & Wade Short
